Rigid-Flex
What is a Rigid-Flex PCB?
Un flex-rigide est un circuit imprimé qui composé de deux parties: une partie flexible et une partie rigide. Cette particularité A rigid-flex is a printed circuit board that consists of two parts: a flexible part and a rigid part. This feature allows for a wider range of interconnections with other components. The use of this type of printed circuit board has several advantages, such as saving space. It is manufactured like a multilayer but with a rigid and a flexible part. (see diagram) The rigid-flex has a high resistance to strong vibrations. On the flexible part, several layers are possible on this type of PCB.

Examples of use:
- On-board electronics
- Telecommunications
- Optronic applications
Sculptured Flex
The sculptured flex is a printed circuit board allowing the removal of ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connectors on the surface. Its composition (polyimide + copper) gives it a robust structure with high currents and good temperature resistance. The dimensions of the pins (thickness, length, type of folding) and the finishes can vary according to the requests. The “sferflex” type can be wired on the surface or through a rigid part.
