What Single-sided

Qu'est What is a single-sided PCB?

This layer consists of a conductive material (copper) and a glass fibre reinforced epoxy material. As a rule, the hole pattern is non-plated on a single-sided PCB. It may be necessary to apply a sparing varnish on this printed circuit. (see diagram)

Examples of use:

  • Camera system
  • Solid state drivers
  • Audio equipment
  • Monitoring
  • Printers
  • Power supplies
  • Calculators

Double-sided

Qu'eWhat is a double-sided PCB?

(The double-sided PCB is made of a material such as epoxy resin reinforced with glass fibre or another type of material (Teflon, reinforced ceramic) and two layers of copper on the lower and upper parts of this printed circuit. (see diagram) For the implementation of a double-sided board, copper reinforcement and metal plating of the holes is carried out in order to guarantee an electrical connection between the two faces (chemical and electrolytic). In general, the double-sided boards are coated with a solder mask.
